Brooklyn born Akilah started playing tennis at a very young age and was taught by her father who hailed from St. Georges, Grenada. As a teenager, she received a full scholarship to train at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and thereafter another scholarship to the University of Arizona where she played positions 3 and 4. Akilah now competes on the ITF circuit and has obtained a singles career high of 678. She enjoys applying the lessons she has learned on the court to her students.

I have worked with Baruch college tennis team as a coach and help team win the conference title. Worked with Division 1 Coach as an assistant coach. Competed in High School and College tennis. While playing for Berkeley College we won HVIAC division title. Worked with US open as a coach. Along several years of teaching and playing tennis I have learned, a player plays their best tennis when they play how their body wants to play. We play our best tennis when we are relaxed and make our mind judge our body minimal. Over the years I have produced great results with players and look forward to make more people enjoy the lovely sport tennis.

Anna Edelman is a tennis professional with 8+ years of experience teaching adults and juniors. She specializes in running high-energy cardio tennis clinics as well as working with tournament players. A native of New York, Anna has been an avid tennis player since childhood, and was a strong competitor as a junior. She played in USTA tournaments in the 12s through the 18s at the regional and national level including Nationals, Super Nationals and ITF tournaments. Anna was recruited to Binghamton University’s NCAA Division 1 Women’s Tennis Team where she competed at Number 1 singles and doubles. Upon graduation, Anna was hired as the assistant coach for the women’s team where she was tasked with motivating the team, organizing practices and working on strategy with the players. Anna is USPTA and Cardio Tennis Certified and will be inducted into Binghamton’s Athletic Hall of Fame this December.

Fernando has a lifelong history with tennis that has taken him around the world as a player and coach. After a successful ITF junior career competing all over the globe, Fernando participated in Futures, Satellites and Challenger tournaments. Since then, and for over a decade, he has passed on his knowledge and experience, coaching professional players and all levels of tennis enthusiasts. Fernando uses the unique and highly successful Spanish tennis coaching system of the world-renowned, Sanchez-Casal Tennis Academy. He has coached in some of the finest tennis academies in Europe, most recently in Spain and Finland, where he received the “Coach of the Year” award. Fernando brings a combination of exciting techniques and stimulating exercises to McCarren, and does so exuding a true passion for the game.

A former juniors and collegiate competitor, Kevin is a lifelong learner who enjoys teaching all levels of tennis athletes. Whether it's teaching the fundamentals to beginners, better consistency to intermediates, or an improved second serve to an advanced player, Kevin sees opportunity for growth at each stage of the tennis journey. With an educational and career background in the psychology field, Kevin possesses insight into the cognitive and emotional aspects of tennis, and encourages a healthy balance between achievement and fun.

Roger Have 20 years of experience as a tennis coach. He have helped many juniors reach national ranking. He has helped a player reach 750 ranking in WTA. Working with many professional players on tour, with vast amount of knowledge.

Dias is a former ITF/ATP player and ex DII standout at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he earned freshman of the year accolades. He has been teaching for a few years in the NYC area. His calm and reassuring coaching demeanor make him a great fit for both juniors and adults alike.
